7 Stripe Shawl Pattern

This project started out as me letting my Tiktok followers choose a pride flag for me to make into a shawl during June, which is pride month. They voted on the lesbian pride flag and I made this shawl. Along the way they kept asking if there would be a pattern. They ask. I provide.

This pattern is now available in my Etsy shop and in my Ravelry shop. Details about the pattern and links directly to this specific pattern are below.

I decided to call this the 7 stripe shawl because there are a number of pride flags this could be adapted to with this stripe pattern just by changing the colors. You can also just choose any 7 colors that suit your fancy! This project is easy to modify if you want a different number of stripes or no stripes at all because I give you the stitch counts for every row in the pattern. Just change colors where you like. As long as they are all in a worsted weight yarn and you’re somewhere close to the gauge this pattern will turn out a beautiful shawl for you.

The pattern is very simple and geared towards beginning crocheters with a nice photo section that clairfies where the stitches go, how to change colors, how to weave in the ends, and how to make a tassel. It has a nice simple repeat, I think that even more experienced crocheters would enjoy zoning out while hooking one of these up.

This is sized for an adult/teen.

Supplies needed to make a hood that is like my sample:

  • Worsted weight yarn in any 7 colors (these will be listed as A,B,C,D,E,F,G) the smallest stripe at the top only uses a little the stripe at the bottom uses about 200 yards.

  • Yarn needle

Stitches used:
